20 weeks old!
This week has been a pretty good week. Ryan has been a little more fussy than normal this week, but we'll take every day with thanksgiving...the fussy ones and the good ones.
The big thing this week was the visit by the SoonerStart people. He scored at a level of a 1 month old in his Gross Motor; 2 months in Fine Motor; 3 months in Cognitive; 2 months in Language; and 1 month in Social Emotional. The other test showed that he scores lowest in his Gross Motor and Fine Motor skills. They did their evaluations on him as though he were a 4-5 month old, so naturally he scored low in all areas and qualifies for services. They said, however, they would be working with him based on his adjusted age which is based on what his age would be from the day he was due to arrive. His adjusted age is not yet even 1 month old. They said the first things we will probably be working with is his motor skills. They
even gave me some things to do now like putting him on his tummy draped over a swimming pool noodle (or Boppy) and encouraging him to lift his head up. I like the swimming pool noodle because Ryan's entire body would fit on the edge of the Boppy, but the noodle fits just under his chest and lifts him just enough while still letting his hands touch the floor.
This next week we have 2 appointments one of which is a visit to the pediatrician. We will be able to see how much he weighs, and I'll definitely post that information since many have been asking.
