Ryan's appointments went well yesterday. In the morning we had an appointment with the nutritionist in Guthrie. He was weighed. We were given some good information and a good report. We came home for a couple of hours, and then went to The City for the pediatrician's office. Dr. Schrader gave Ryan a very good report. He said he was looking great. He was very pleased with his weight gain and growth. He said he wasn't even looking like a preemie anymore but was looking like a "normal" 1 month old. He observed his relfexes and noticed that some of his infantile reflexes are diminishing and the new ones that should be occuring are beginning to show. He listened to his heart and lungs and said everything sounded good. Dr. Schrader also noticed Ryan arching his back and inquired about reflux. With Ryan's regular spitting-up and back arching and discomfort he thinks Ryan has a little bit of reflux. He is going to start Ryan on Axid twice a day. He also recommended we start putting rice in Ryan's bottle 2 or 3 times a day. This being the case, with the increased calories, we are going to try to get Ryan off the 3 hour feeding schedule and try for a 4 hour schedule. We go back to the pediatrician in 1 month for vaccinations...oh dread!
