Well...things have been going very well. Ryan has mastered this rolling over thing...at least in one direction. He gets on his tummy then can't figure out what to do. Needless to say, screaming eventually is heard and Mommy or Daddy helps him roll to his back again. Ryan is grabbing at toys and has started to bring them to his mouth. His fingers are still his most favourite thing to have in his mouth. He can often be seen with his first 2 fingers of one hand in his mouth and the other hand trying to grab the nearest toy. The newest challenge brought about by all this is keeping his hands clean! One of Ryan's new favourites is bath time. He loves to take a bath. A bath can soothe the fussies instantly. He loves to splash, and the look on his face while he is splashing is a look of determination...like he is determined to splash all the water out of the sink. Our kitchen floor should be very clean since it gets a good washing each night, too.

We went to the pulmonologist on Monday. He gave Ryan a good report and was very pleased with Ryan's development. Ryan "talked" to Dr. Reyes and grabbed his stethoscope. He was the doctor's little helper. I think Dr. Reyes enjoyed it. Ryan weighed 11 pounds at this appointment.

The doctor said that through the fall and winter months we must be very careful with Ryan and try to keep him from getting ill. Ryan will be getting the Synigist injections starting on the 18th of this month to help lessen the chances he will get RSV. We are now entering the RSV season (Oct.-Apr.), and if I remember correctly we were told that anyone can get RSV. In adults the symptoms are those of a cold. The problem is when babies get RSV the symptoms can be much more severe and life threatening. He gave us some new rules to live by, and we intend to follow them to the best of our ability. Here they are:

-Stay away from crowded areas (primarily indoors--crowded grocery stores, malls, etc.)
-Stay out of church
-If anyone even remotely feels ill they need to wear a mask around Ryan
-Limit contact with school-age children (He didn't say he couldn't be around school-age kids, but we need to be careful and limit contact)
-WASH HANDS! WASH HANDS! WASH HANDS!

We love you all!
