Thanksgiving was fantastic. We spent Thursday at home with some of our relatives and we ate and ate and ate some more. Do you ever wonder why as an American tradition it is most acceptable to celebrate by stuffing ourselves until the point of misery? Anyway...we had a wonderful time. I love to be surrounded by the people I love. On Friday we went to my mom's house (Nana until Ryan re-names her). It is tradition in my family to decorate the house on the day after Thanksgiving, so we ate again and prepared the house for the upcoming Christmas holiday. It was wonderful. Again it was so delightful to spend time with those we love.
Ryan did well during the holiday. On Thursday he tried some mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and green beans. He tasted some pumpkin pie and as a late evening snack he pretended a roll was his popsicle. He slept through dinner on Friday, but Nana gave him a candy cane after he woke up. It turned into one sticky mess, but he seemed to like it.
As I mentioned before the tradition we are starting for our family is to decorate our house for Christmas on the evening of Thanksgiving. We put up the tree and began transforming our home. Christmas time was always a magical time for me as a kid, and I am hoping that it will be a magical time for Ryan. We are open to any ideas for making Christmas time extra special. After the tree was decorated we laid him under it. He loved it. He looked at the lights and grabbed at anything he could reach. Our tree sits pretty low to the floor, so we must be careful. We found he can easily reach the bottom branches and ornaments. (New Pictures Posted)
