Ryan had a good day yesterday. He didn't get rid of the ventilator tube, but several of the nurses and RTs tried to talk the doctor into pulling it yesterday morning. He received blood yesterday. His transfusion was 23 ml. His very first transfusion was 10 ml. He has grown quite a lot. When I got there yesterday afternoon his blood had already been given, and he looked good. His color was alot pinker than the day before. During our kangarooing time he did well. He got real squirmy for the last 30 minutes or so, but he didn't de-sat at all. In the past he would de-sat with any movement. I really enjoyed watching him. He looked around with what appeared to be much interest and intensity. He was exceptionally cute!
Well...
We got a call from Mercy NICU this morning just before 7:00. At about 6:30 a.m. they removed the ventilator tube. Ryan is just on a nasal canula for oxygen, and he is doing great! Yea! Hoorah! Yippee!
