New Pictures Posted!

Ryan has been doing very well. He has started smiling and "talking" at anyone who will talk to him. It is so much fun! He is very social and loves to be right in the middle of everything. He likes to see what's going on, so sitting up has become his new favorite position most of the time. He has been staying awake more during the day, and thankfully has been sleeping pretty good most nights. For the very first time ever he actually slept 9 hours last night. Hooray! Now if that storm had not been so disturbing I could have actually enjoyed all of that 9 hours myself. We pray for those who were hit hard by the storm.

I don't know how much Ryan weighs although he is probably close to 9 pounds. He is still eating well...usually about 4 ounces every 4 hours or so. He doesn't go back to the pediatrician until early October, and unfortunately it is to get his 6 month shots (although he will be about 8 months old). It is so hard to believe that he is already 6 months old! How time flies! He goes to see the pulmonologist this Monday. Other than that he has no more regular appointments.

As a family we have made a pretty big and difficult decision recently. I will not be returning to school this fall. I have spent countless hours (most at night) praying about it, and I haven't been able to get a sense of peace about returning. Some things did not work out as planned which contributed to the decision, too. I will be staying home with Ryan for at least another semester and I plan to return to school when God leads me to do so. I am so excited about becoming a nurse, but also feel so blessed (not to mention extremely responsible) to have Ryan and stay home with him. I know this is the right decision even though I don't know how everything is going to work out. I guess it is a lesson on living by faith.
