Today has been a very good day. Ryan went to the Pediatrician today. He weighs 5 pounds 6 ounces! It's hard to believe. He started at a tiny 1 pounds 8 ounces, and now he's a 5 pound 6 ounce big boy. The doctor was very pleased with his growth as well as his development. He said he would remain on the caffeine for at least another 6 weeks, and the monitor would accompany us for at least that long also. He said Ryan's blood work from a week ago was in an acceptable range, although I got the impression that it must have been on the low end of that range. He said that he wanted to push Ryan's body to start doing what it needs to do to maintain his blood levels, and that if we can keep from giving him blood that his body will start doing a better job at keeping up. He wants Ryan's blood levels to be checked again in a week or 2. After leaving the pediatrician's office we went to the chiropractor. He did a scan of Ryan's spinal column and found a couple of areas with some pinching of the nerves and one area of significant restriction on the nerves. He said Ryan would need to come just a couple more times and then everything should be fine. I am just amazed at how much progress Ryan has made since we've started seeing the doctor. It amazes me to see Ryan squirm and protest when the doctor first touches him, but by the time the doctor is finished applying his gentle touch Ryan is just as calm and happy as he can be.

Extra Cute Moment of the Day:
I put Ryan in his cradle in front of a little mirror at which he seems to really enjoy looking. I went outside and did a little work. When I returned he had squirmed all the way down to the end of the cradle, and was in a little ball pressed against the end.
