Everything has been going pretty well. Ryan went to the pediatrician yesterday. He weighs 6 pounds! The doctor said his weight gain is great. He also said that Ryan should be at his lowest point as far as his blood levels. It has to do with a normal physiological occurance that happens in all babies. I'll spare you the details. Ryan's blood level is at a 9.? which is down from the 11.? a couple of weeks ago, but the doctor said he doesn't transfuse blood unless it is 7.5 or lower. Ryan is doing just fine. The doctor wants him to have labwork drawn one more time in a few weeks to make sure that his body is doing the job of maintaining blood levels normally. Ryan is still eating well. He usually eats just over 2 ounces. As far as our nights...some nights are good, and other's leave us wishing for a bit more sleep. Overall, things are great!
After our appointments we went to the NICU yesterday to visit. We sure do miss everyone, so it was quite a treat to see and visit with everyone again. We will have to go back again soon so we can see more of our friends. We got to visit with quite a few people, but there were a number of people that we didn't get to see. We sure do love everyone in the NICU. They are our heroes.
